Big Apple Helicopter Tour

See New York's famous landmarks from the air on an exhilarating 15-minute helicopter tour. You'll come face-to-face with the Statue of Liberty as you fly above the Hudson River. Admire the iconic Empire State Building, the silver Art Deco brilliance of the Chrysler Building, and the sprawling green expanse of Central Park. A must for any visitor to New York City!

On your 15-minute New York sightseeing helicopter flight you'll experience the grandeur of Manhattan's famous skyline in a way that's impossible from the ground. You'll also see the most famous landmark in the US, the Statue of Liberty, from the air! Starting from New York's Downtown Heliport, situated close to Battery Park and Wall Street, your flight takes you past the World Financial Center, Empire State, Chrysler, Woolworth, and Met Life Buildings and over Ellis Island and the Hudson River to reach the George Washington Bridge. Your pilot is on hand to provide commentary on the points of interest seen during your flight via the headphones provided, and all seats on board the helicopter provide spectacular views over the city.

Skydive Jersey

The Manhattan and Philadelphia skylines are just specks in the distance, as your plane slowly climbs. Once it reaches the proper altitude, the cabin doors fling open. It's time to jump. The instructor strapped to your back gives you a nod, and you tumble through the sky, free-falling at 120 mph for nearly a minute before the parachute opens and you drift gently to the ground.

This scenario fills some with fear and others with an intoxicating wave of adrenaline, but for the instructors at Skydive Jersey, it's just another day on the job. That's because for more than 20 years their company has been specializing in tandem jumps, which retain all the thrill of solo jumps without the months of required training. In fact, this group of experienced skydivers can teach first-timers all the essential skills and safety precautions necessary to take the big leap in only an hour. Skydive Jersey even offers group rates for folks who want to skydive with their friends or bring a pet emu along so it can finally experience the sensation of flight.

Horse Riding

Anthropologists believe it took a millennium to domesticate the horse and another millennium of breeding to eliminate its scales and dorsal spines. Climb aboard a dino's descendant with this Groupon. On rides scheduled between 10 a.m. and dusk, parties of up to six riders gather for a relaxing horse bound jaunt through the scenic Hudson Valley, led by a seasoned guide. Each rider also gets a complimentary hot cocoa or a cool drink.

Skyline

New York City's skyline is awe-inspiring. The skyscrapers, bridges, waterways, islands and monuments create a breathtaking panorama that is instantly recognizable worldwide. While you can feel the immensity of these surroundings from anywhere in the City, the grandeur of the cityscape is best viewed from above. One World Observatory is a lofty place to start. The observation decks, located on the top three floors of One World Trade Center, offer a stunning perspective on New York City—the sort of view that's only available from the tallest building in the western hemisphere.

Nightlife

For a true NYC experience, it's essential to go out after dark. While it's a fool's endeavor to attempt a summary of the City's nightlife offerings in just a few words, we can make some recommendations: be sure to spend some time in Harlem, where the Apollo Theater stages its famous Amateur Night—over the years, the Apollo has hosted performances by such stars as Ella Fitzgerald, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, the Strokes and comedian Chris Rock. Outside Harlem, the City is home to a bounty of other concert venues. B.B. King Blues Club & Grill, the Highline Ballroom, Irving Plaza and many more all host both rising and multiplatinum artists; check out our concert calendar for a list of notable upcoming shows. The Lower East Side and Williamsburg, meanwhile, are two of many neighborhoods that are full of bars running the gamut from classy joints to gritty dives to dancing dens.
